Dec. 4, 2019 Excerpts from Obituary: ARMON J. PLATTE of Portland Died Sunday, December 1, 2019-age 79. Born December 27, 1939 in Westphalia, Member of St Patrick Catholic Church where he was an usher and Eucharistic Minister. A proud veteran of the U.S. Army, stationed in Germany for 19 months. Retired from General Motors after 38 years of service. Hobbies included travel, camping, photography, and making people smile. Armon loved his family & cherished the time time spent with them. He especially enjoyed his children and grandchildren. Preceded in death are his parents; 2 grandchildren, 3 sisters, 3 brothers, and two brothers-in-laws. Surviving are his cherished wife, Joane (Schneider) of 53 years, 8 children, 11 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, 4 sisters, 1 brother, 2 Platte in- laws, many Schneider in-laws, nieces & nephews. Mass of Christian Burial celebrated by Rev. Mike Alber at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 6, 2019 at St. Patrick Church, Portland. Rite of Committal will follow in Portland Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6-8 p., Thursday, 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Lehman Funeral Home, Portland. Rosaries will be prayed at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday and 2:00 & 6:00 p.m. Thursday at the chapel.
