Funeral services will be held Monday for a Hubbardston man, George I. 
Pletcher, 57, who was fatally injured Friday in a headon auto collision about 
two and one half miles south of Carson City.  Pletcher died in Carson City 
hospital, Deputy Earl Pennington reported, of a crushed chest after his car 
collided with a car driven by Elwyne L. Cotton, 25 of Ionia.  Cotton suffered 
a broken rib and chest injuries.  Riding with him was Sam Anderson, 67, of 
Hubbardston, who suffered head injuries.  Both are said to be making good 
progress toward recovery.

Pletcher was a member of the American Legion.  He is survived by his wife, 
Florence; a son, Richard of Lansing and brother, Walter of Detroit.  Funeral 
services were held Monday at 2 pm at the James Burns residence in 
Hubbardston.  Burial was in Deepdale cemetery in Lansing.
