The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Friday, September 5, 2014


Leonard Claire Pline, age 58, of Ionia, passed away September 1, 2014 in 
Lansing.  He was born October 10, 1955 in Carson City the son of Carl and 
Geraldine (Ives) Pline. 

Leonard worked at Meijer’s for 37½ years until retiring in 2012.  He always had 
his signature ZZ Top beard.  Leonard was an avid golfer and softball player.  
He also worked at the Ionia Free Fair as a security guard for over 20 years. 

Leonard is survived by his life partner, Connie Devers of Ionia; daughter, 
Lynnette Pline of Ionia; step-children, Marie (John) Brown of Sunfield, Barb 
(Doug) Tasker of Riverdale, Cheryl (Mateo) Fuentes of Ionia, and Christopher 
(Kristine) Dukes of Potterville; brothers, Dick (Diane) Pline of Pewamo, Gary 
(Kathie) Pline of Greenville, and Scott (Yvonne) Pline of Ionia; sister, Betty 
(Don) Randall of Muir; grandson, Jerry Pline of Ionia, and several step-
grandchildren & great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents; 
brother, Ronald Pline and sister, Sally Vaughn.  He was a loving Dad, 
Grandfather, and Great-Grandfather. 

No services will be held at this time.  Those wishing, may make a contribution 
in Leonard’s name to the Ionia Free Fair Foundation.  Arrangements by Lake 
Funeral Home in Ionia.
