The Ionia Daily Standard, Wednesday, February 2, 1898

A brief funeral service was held for Mrs. Lena L. Plummer, at her late home 
last evening, previous to the removal of the remains to Casco for burial.  The 
attendance at the house was large.  The service was conducted by Rev. W. H. B. 
Urch, of the M. E. church.

The flowers were many and strikingly beautiful, including several large and 
handsome set pieces.  The bereaved husband’s associates at the asylum sent a 
crescent design, with the likeness of deceased to centre, also two other large 
and beautiful pieces.  Other pieces were, one from Mrs. W. H. VanderHeyden, a 
panel of roses from Ionia Camp of Modern Woodmen, a bouquet from the Royal 
Neighbors, and a bouquet from Mrs. Gilbert Ketchum.
