Ionia Sentinel - 26 March 1962
John P. Pohl, 88, lifelong resident of Portland area, died Sunday at his home on 
Cutler Road, rural Portland.  He is survived by his wife, Katherine; four 
daughters, Mrs. Bertha Weber of Fowler, Mrs. Caroline Murphy of Albion, Ill., 
Mrs. Viola Spickler of Utica, and Mrs. Geraldine Hall of Lansing three sons, 
Peter, Harry and Leon Pohl of Portland 35 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; 
and a sister, Mrs. Mary Bertram of Fowler.

Rosary will be recited at Neller funeral home in Portland Tuesday at  pm.  
Funeral mass will be offered at St. Patricks Catholic church.  Wednesday at 9:30 
am with the Rev. Fr. Casimir Zowacki singing the mass.  Burial will be at 
Portland cemetery.
