Pohl, 81, of 210 Heyer St. Westphalia, died Sunday in a Lansing hospital. He was born June 23, 1893 in Westphalia Township the son of John Pohl and Catherine Sitzley. Mr. Pohl retired from the restaurant business and was a retired Knights of Columbus insurance salesman. He was a member of St. Marys Church, the St. Joseph Society and the Knights of Columbus Fourth Degree. Survivors include a son, Harold of Sylmar, Calif.; a daughter, Caroline Piggott of Portland; two sisters, Mary Ferguson of Fenton and Theresa Hengesbach of Portland; 13 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. A rosary service will be today at 3 and 8 p.m. at the St. Mary's Chapel. Funeral Mass will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. James Schmitt officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Pallbearers will be William Pohl and Duane, Alan, Roy, Philip and Stanley Piggot. Arrangements by the Neller Funeral Home in Portland.
