Pohl, 48, of 7662 Grange Road, Portland, Route 2, died Dec. 22 at a Lansing hospital. She was born in Pewamo on June 28, 1940, the daughter of Gustav and Anna Schafer Pohl, who preceded her in death. Pohl was a member of St. Mary’s Church and was a member and former official of the Daughters of Isabella and the Christian Mothers. She also was a volunteer at the Clinton County Hospice and was an avid Pewamo-Westphalia High School athletics and band booster. Pohl is survived by her husband, Joseph; two sons, Kenneth Pohl of Bay City and James Pohl, who lived at home; four daughters, Mrs. John (Therese) Sura of Lansing and Mary Jo, Dianne and Karen Pohl, at home. Also surviving her are five brothers: Francis Pline of St. Johns, Marion and Gustav Pline, both of Westphalia, Wayne Pline of Portland and Leon Pline of Pewamo; three sisters: Vivian Schrauben of Carson City, Doris Kohagen of Pewamo and Virginia Jean Walter of Pewamo. One sister-in-law, Mrs. Norbert (Joan) Fox of Pewamo also survives her as do several nieces and nephews. One brother, James Pline, preceded her in death. Rosary services will be held at St. Mary’s Church on Friday, at 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. and on Saturday at 3 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 26, at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church with the Rev. James Novak officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a parish rosary at 8 p.m. Neller Funeral Home, which is handling the funeral arrangements, will be closed from 4 p.m. on Christmas Eve to 6 p.m. on Christmas Day. Pall bearers will be Randall Walter, Dean Kohagen, Allen Pline, Ronald Pline, Gene Pline and Roger Pline.
