He suffered head and chest injuries and never regained consciousness after the accident. Pomerville left Ionia about six o’clock Friday morning with his truck load of cheese from the Ionia Creamery for distribution in Saginaw. Deputy Sheriff Earl Peters of Saginaw said that tire tracks in the snow indicated that Pomerville lost control of his truck 585 feet from the culvert. Icy road conditions were believed to have been the cause. Coroner Richard F. Gugel of Saginaw conducted an inquest. Pomerville resided at 258 Adams street. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Pomerville of South Ionia. He was born December 21, 1921, in Detroit, and they moved to Saginaw later coming to Ionia. October 28, 1944, he was married to Miss Arlene Petersen, at the parental home of Elmer Petersen in Easton. He had attended SS. Peter and Paul academy and was a veteran of World War II, entering the coast guard July 8, 1942, and serving at Balboa Island and Long Beach, California. He is survived by his wife, his parents, and a brother Gerald. Funeral services will be conducted Monday afternoon at 3 o’clock at the Stone funeral home on East Washington street. ---------------- Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 3:00 o’clock from Stone’s funeral home for Stanley Pomerville, 26, who died Friday evening at 8:00 o’clock in a Saginaw hospital of injuries suffered when his truck struck a culvert. The Rev. Wayne Davis officiated. Interment was in the family lot of Easton cemetery. His bearers were Evert Hotchkiss, Berdyne Travis, Richard Slater, Robert Peterson, Kenneth Ransom and Glenn Conner. Relatives attending the services from out of town were Mr. and Mrs. Robert Pomerville and Mrs. Sturgell of Orleans, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Pomerville and Mr. and Mrs. Newton Stanley of Bay City, Mr. and Mrs. John Pomerville of Detroit, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Pomerville and family of Saginaw, Mrs. Rose Griff and Mrs. Pearl Marks, Delores and Evon of Newberry, Mr. and Mrs. Godfrey Peterson and family of Palo and Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Tilford, Royal and Lawrence of Cochrun.
