L. Pond, are very sad this week over the loss by his death at their home in Coldwater. A week ago the child contracted tonsillitis which soon developed into diphtheria pronounced so by a counsel of physicians called to diagnose the case. Mrs. A. L. Weter was immediately summoned there but skillful nursing and the best medical treatment was of no avail, the little one passed away at 3 o’clock Friday morning. Had he lived until Feb. 23 he would have been two years old. His grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Weter, who were much devoted to the bright boy are also sadly stricken with grief over the loss. The remains were brought here for interment in the family lot in Riverside cemetery Saturday accompanied by the sorrowing parents. Mr. Pond’s parents, Elon Pond and wife of Corunna, Mrs. Bert Sullivan a sister, of Owosso and Mrs. Dean and Mrs. Champenoy of Ionia were also in attendance. Rev. Carman offered prayer at the cemetery.
