He was born in Lincolnshire, England, Oct. 14, 1833, came to America when a young man and settled in Oakland County, soon after entering the employ of Hale Bros., at Waterford as a practical miller. Soon after the business was transferred to Lyons, in the early fifties, Mr. Poole also moved to Lyons, and was employed at the mill continuously from August 1, 1869, to August 1, 1901, when he had the misfortune to have his right hand taken off in the rolls, which incapacitated him for work to a certain extent, although he was more or less active about the mill as long as it remained in Lyons. Funeral services ere held at his late residence Tuesday afternoon, conducted by Rev. G. A. Brown, and the remains were taken to Burlingham for burial.
