Thelma A. Poole, 95, of Saranac, passed away Monday, March 5, 2001, in Ionia. 
She was born Oct. 23, 1905, the daughter of Richard and May Jane Covert Dyke. 

She went on to marry her husband, Victor Poole, who preceded her in death in
April 1987.

She was a past member of Eastern Star, Ladies Literary Club, Belding Business
Professional, Woman’s Bowling Association, and founder of Saranac Bridge Club.

She is survived by three daughters, Marj Cahoon of Belding, Virginia
Christiansen of Ionia, Sharon Thomas Updike of Comstock Park; sister-in-law,
Gertrude Dyke Brand of Saranac; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one
great-great-grandchild; many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by
her parents and two brothers.

Funeral services are 2 p.m. today at Lake Funeral Home, Saranac, with the Rev.
Edwin Noren officiating.  Anyone wishing to make memorial contributions to Ionia
Area Hospice, envelopes are available at the funeral home.
