He is a native of Russia where his parents and two brothers live. He has been in this country since January 1914 and had no relatives here. Popovitch attempted to swim across the river from the sand bar and went down in the current at that place not being able to make the distance. Roy Bouch, a companion, dived and managed to get hold of Popovitch but lost him again before he could bring him up. It was fifty-five minutes later before the body was brought to the surface by grappling hooks. The burial will take place here. A coroner's jury has been impaneled consisting of Sam Bosch, Dr. Wm. H. Ferguson, John Wieczorek, Elmer Anslow, Dan Wittish, O. E. Newton. If Sheriff Lowrey wants an inquest it will be held Thursday, July 29, at the city hall.
