A. R. veteran, killed himself by hanging at the national Military Home of Dayton, O., on Feb. 23, using a sheet for the purpose, after he just previously failed by cutting his throat with a razor. Deceased was a brother of the first Mrs. R. J. Humphrey, and visited at the latter’s home here last summer. He went to the military home after he began to lose his eyesight. Deceased will be remembered by baseball fans of earlier days when he was the catcher for the old Wolverine baseball team in 1868; at the same time that B. l. Comstock was pitching for that team.
