The Lake Odessa Wave & Times, Thursday, June 17, 1943

Mrs. Mary Nott Porter, 84, died at her home in Sunfield, Friday morning, 
following a long illness. She was born December 4, 1858, in New York state and 
came to Michigan when very young.

Surviving are five sisters, Mrs. John Otto, Mrs. Millie Garlinger, Mrs. 
Flossie Earl, all in Lake Odessa, Miss Ella Nott and Miss Emma Nott in Grand 
Rapids, and three brothers, James Nott at Saranac, Alonzo and Harvey in Lake 
Odessa.

Funeral services were held from the Mapes funeral home in Sunfield Sunday 
afternoon with burial in the Sunfield cemetery.
