Rev. C. J. Kruse was the officiating clergyman and music was by Mrs. George Fox and Mrs. H. E. Bergy. The bearers were Frank Ammon, Tony Ammon, Frank Young, Hiram Pinnow and Frank (unreadable). Burial was in the Highland park Cemetery. Mr. Porter was one of the best known of the older residents of the city, a veteran of the Civil war, and a long time employer of the Pere Marquette shop here. He was 90 years of age at the time of his death. A daughter Mrs. E. T. Richley with her family occupies the old home. Mr. Richley is a steward on the Great Lakes during the season of navigation.
