             MRS SETH PORTER, OLD RESIDENT OF CITY, PASSES AWAY
   Came Here in 1866; Recently Celebrated Sixty-second Wedding Anniversary.

Mrs. Seth Porter died at the residence, 520 Allen street, Monday, December 5, 
after a short illness. At the time of her death Mrs. Porter was 83 years of 
age. Besides her husband she leaves one daughter, Mrs. Kate Richley; two 
grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Mr. and Mrs. Porter came to Ionia from New York state in December, 1866, and 
have resided on Allen street ever since. On March 15, they  celebrated their 
sixty-second wedding anniversary. The funeral will be held from the residence 
Thursday afternoon at 2:30. Rev. E. E. Branch will officiate. 


Friday Dec. 9, 1921               
                                   FUNERALS
The funeral for Mrs. Seth Porter was held from the residence on Allen street, 
Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. Rev. E. E. Branch officiated. The music was 
furnished by Mrs. Myrtle Peck and Mrs. R. A. Colwell. The bearers were Frank 
Hess, William Thomas, Frank Young, Frank Ammon, Tony Ammon and Charles Fancett. 
Burial took place in the family lot at Highland park cemetery.
