Possehn, 54, of route 2, Bliss road, Lake Odessa, was dead on arrival at Pennock hospital at Hastings Saturday following an extended illness. Born at Portland, February 21, 1919, he was the son of William and Bertha Schroeder Possehn. May 10, 1947, he was married to Cathryn Cross at Angola, Ind. A lifelong resident of the area he was a farmer and had worked the past 11 years at Lake Odessa Machine Products. He retired August 13, 1973, due to ill health. He was a World War II veteran serving 5 ½ years with duty in Alaska and Germany. Surviving besides the wife and a daughter, Debora, and son, Phillip, both at home; mother, Mrs. Bertha Possehn; three sisters, Mrs. Hulda Sutton of rural Portland; Mrs. Helen Godwin of Northfield, and Mrs. Lucille Heppe of Orleans; four brothers, Herbert and Raymond of Portland and Donald and Thomas of Lake Odessa. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at Pickens Koops funeral chapel at Lake Odessa. Rev. Randall Metz will officiate and interment will be at Lakeside cemetery.
