Possehn were Monday afternoon from the Leddick funeral home with Pastor Leo Kostizen of St. John Lutheran church officiating. Mrs. Possehn, 79, a longtime Saranac resident, died late Friday evening at the home of her daughter in rural Lowell. Mrs. Possehn was born in Renville, Minnesota January 10, 1899, the daughter of Henry and Alvina Lange Hoffman and attended schools in Renville. She married Clarence Possehn, June 16, 1919 and moved to Orange township, making their home in Orange township before moving to the Saranac area in 1927. Mr. Possehn preceded her in death February 2, 1967. Mrs. Possehn was a member of St. John Lutheran Church. Survivors include two sons, LaVern and Gordon of rural Saranac; two daughters Mrs. Virginia Wingeier of rural Belding and Mrs. Jack (Norma Jean) Staal of rural Lowell; one brother, Gustav Hoffman of Saranac; two sisters, Mrs. Elsie Schmidt of Longmount, Colorado and Mrs. Leo (Minnie) Swarts of Falmouth; 16 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Organist was Mrs. Josephine Barna with Mrs. Kathleen Olson as soloist. Burial was in Highland Park cemetery. Following graveside services, luncheon was prepared and served by residents of Mill Creek Meadows in the community room.
