Sarah C. Dildine was born Dec. 18, 1844, in Sullivan Co., Penn.  At the age of
five years her mother died, leaving two children.  Her father found homes for
the children and then went to the state of New York where he again married.  He
then returned to Pennsylvania after the children, and took Kate with him but
left her brother there.  Just before the Civil War the family moved to Michigan.
 At the age of 17 she was married to James B. Post.  Five children were born to
them, John W Lemar H., Viola C., James C., and Chester L.  Viola and Chester
died some years ago.  About 9 years ago her husband died, since which time she
has made her home with her children at Saranac and Grand Rapids.

She was a charter member of the Congregational church of Clarksville and has
remained a member ever since.  She had been a great sufferer for many years, but
was always cheerful and hopeful.  She had lived in Campbell township and
Clarksville for over 40 years.

She died at the home of her son, James C., in Grand Rapids, May 5th, 1913, age
68 years, 4 months and 17 days.
