Mr. Ivan W. Postle, 75, of Easton Township, Ionia, passed away, Sunday, Oct. 
28, 2001 at Metron of Belding.

He was born the son of Omer C. and Alma (Wolfert) Postle on Dec. 4, 1925 in 
Muir.  He graduated from Muir High School.

Ivan was a World War II vet serving in the U.S. Marine Corp. and he was 
discharged at the rank of corporal.  He married the former Eleanor Winslow on 
March 6, 1948 in Covington, Ky.  He worked at the Riverside Correctional 
Facility as a corrections officer retiring after 31 years of service.  He was a 
member of both the Sheridan V.F.W. and the Portland American Legion.  His 
hobbies were his yard and his beautiful flowers.

Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Eleanor (June); two sons, Douglas (Mary) 
Postle and Dude (Sharon) Postle both of Ionia; his grandchildren, Tina and Greg 
Wolbers, Ty Possehn, Kristine and Christopher Boggs, Amber and Jessica Postle; 
great-grandchildren, Ryan and Ashlei Postle, Andrew J. Boggs, C.J. and Carter 
Wolbers; one brother, Leo (Ilene) Postle of Ionia; and one sister, Alma Jane 
(Richard) Davis of Florida.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Bianca Possehn; brother, Clare; and 
two sisters, Lillie and Fern.

Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m., Friday from the Cook Funeral Home in 
Ionia with Rev. Kenneth Harger of the Shiloh Community Church officiating.  
There will be no visitation.  Interment of Mr. Postle ashes will be in the 
Sunset Memorial Gardens in Ionia.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Ionia Area Hospice in care of Cook 
Funeral Home.
