The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Monday, March 15, 1982

Omer C. Postle Sr., 84, a long time resident of Muir, died Saturday at a 
Greenville nursing home.  He was born June 25, 1898 in Stanton, the son of 
John and Minnie Postle.  He married Alma Wolford in January of 1919, who 
passed away in September of 1972.

Retired from the Muir Lumber Co. he was a member of the Palo Oddfellows Club, 
and the Gleaners.  He was a village constable, a Sheriff Deputy for many years 
and a member of the village council.

He is survived by three sons: Omer C. Jr., Ivan and Leo, all of Ionia; three 
daughters: Miss Lillie Postle of Ionia, Fern Ferrington of Orange, California, 
and Mrs. Alma Davis of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; 12 grandchildren, and 15 great-
grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, 2 p.m. at the Hull Funeral Home in 
Muir, the Rev. Rollie Timmons, Pine Grove church, officiating.  Burial will be 
in the Muir cemetery.  A memorial has been established for the Muir voluntary 
Fire Department.  Contributions may be left at the Hull Funeral Home.
