Potocney, 74, of Oak Park, Ill., former resident and retired employee of Peschke Packing company, died Saturday afternoon at the home of his son, Edward, at 203 Yeomans Street. Mr. Potocney was born February 12, 1891 in Czechoslovak Republic and came to United States at the age of 18 and resided in Chicago Heights. His parents were Michael and Theresa Potocney. February 13, 1913 he was married to Regina Mazylewski. Mr. Potocney became employed with Peschke company in 1940 and in 1945 moved to Ionia with his family. He was retired as a chemical processor nine years ago and following his retirement moved moved to Oak Park. Surviving are his wife, Regina; two sons, Joseph and Leonard Potocney of Chicago and Edward of Ionia; seven daughters, Mrs. Hugh Cobel of Arizona, Mrs. Donald Peterson of Colorado, Mrs. George Cree of Ypsilanti, Mrs. Robert Schwarz of Oak Park, Mrs. Frank Weber of Portland, Mrs. John Rupp of Grand Rapids and Mrs. Gary Sprank of Mason; 22 grandchildren and two great grandchildren; two brothers and two sisters in Europe. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Stone-Kauffman funeral home. Interment will be at Balcom cemetery.
