Potter, a well known resident of Keene, died last Thursday morning at his home in that township, where he has resided fifty-one years, at the age of seventy-seven years. Funeral services were held from the home Saturday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Russell H. Bready, and interment was made in the White cemetery. Mr. Potter was born January 17, 1829 in South Glastonbury, Conn.; and at the early age of twelve came to Michigan, remaining two years and then returning to his former home. There he remained until after his marriage to Celia Ann Taylor, also of South Glastonbury, which occurred July 6, 1851. To this union were born eight children, three of whom have passed away. The remaining five were at home to comfort him in his last days. In the death of Mr. Potter the community loses an honorable and obliging citizen, and the children and aged wife a kind and loving husband and father, whose loss will be deeply mourned.
