Ionia Sentinel-Standard - Fri. Sept. 13, 1991


MUIR – Dexter L. Pottruff, 79, of 9014 Wagar Road, Lyons, died Wednesday at 
Ionia County Memorial Hospital.

Born July 22, 1912, at Fallasburg, he was the son of Louis and Vera Halsted 
Pottruff. He was a graduate of Lyons High School and once worked as a mechanic 
at Smith Chevrolet of Lyons. He retired from Oldsmobile in 1977.

He was married to Geraldine Kiefer; she died in 1988.

Surviving are three stepsons, James Shaefer of ionia, Gary Sheaffer of Muir and 
Richard Sheaffer of Fenwick; a step daughter, Carol Sheaffer of Muir, and 
nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. from Hull Memorial Chapel, with the 
Rev. Paul Carmichael officiating.

Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens.

A memorial for the Michigan Lung Association has been established, in care of 
the funeral home.
