Lowell Ledger, 15 Feb 1906

The funeral of Mrs. E.A. Powell was held at the Keene church last Thursday, 
conducted by Rev. J.H. Wesbrook, and burial was in the Marble cemetery.  Mary 
Edna Smith was born at South Bristol, Ontario county, N.Y., Oct. 3, 1865, and 
moved with her parents to Michigan when about one year old.  She spent her 
childhood days with them on their farm in Otisco, Ionia county, and was married 
to E.A. Powell June 4, 1885.  Mr. and Mrs. Powell have spent nearly all their 
married life in Keene.  To them were born seven children, two of whom died in 
infancy.  Mrs. Powell died at her home in Keene Feb. 4, after an illness of 
only thirty-six hours.  She leaves a father and mother, two brothers, one 
sister, her husband and five children to mourn her loss.
