Betty L. Powell, 70, of Stanton died July 26, 1996 at Carson City Hospital.  
She was born December 1, 1925 in Cressey, Mich., the daughter of Clayton A. 
Aldrich and Anna E. Downing.  She married R. Ray Powell March 3, 1946 in Lake 
Odessa.  She has been a resident of Stanton since she moved from Lake Odessa 
in 1971.  She was a member of the VFW Post 5065 Ladies Auxiliary of Sheridan.

She is survived by one daughter, Jill Ann (Edward J.) Comer of Lake Odessa; 
three sons; Jack (Kay) Powell of Stanton, Jerry (Melody) Powell of Gratton, 
and Jan (Mary) Powell of Sheridan; 14 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; 
and one brother, Clarence Aldrich of Lake Odessa.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. today, July 29, 1996 at the Stebbins and 
Simpson Funeral Home in Sheridan.  Rev. Ken Harger will be officiating and 
interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made 
to the American Lung Association.
