Miss Mary Powell, whose death occurred at her home, 319 North Jefferson street yesterday afternoon had been a resident of Ionia county practically all her life had lived in the city of Ionia for about 12 years. Death took place yesterday after several years of ill health and a year of more severe illness. Miss Powell was born on the farm now occupied by her brother, Herbert Powell. She lived there until her father died about 12 years ago, when she and her mother came to Ionia to make their home. The elder Mrs. Powell passed away about a year ago. Miss Powell was for many years a member of the First Baptist church of this city. She leaves two sisters four brothers, as the only surviving members of her immediate family. They are Mrs. Frances Normington, 321 North Jefferson street, Rev. Henry W. Powell, 560 Lafayette street; Mrs. W. D. Barnes of Middleville, H. B. Powell of Carson City; Herman J. Powell, of Upland, Cal; and Herbert E. Powell of Ronald township. The funeral will be held from the residence at 10:30 Thursday morning; Rev. E. E. Branch officiating. Burial will be in Highland Park cemetery.
