Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard, 4 Sep 1956

Mary (Conroy) Powers, 79, died Sunday, September 2, at her residence, 240 
Lafayette street, Grand Rapids, where she has resided since moving from Ionia 
nine years ago.  Mrs. Powers was born in Ionia, August 27, 1877, and was the 
daughter of William and Catherine Conroy.  Later she moved to Detroit, and was 
married to William Powers, who preceded her in death in 1936.  She was a member 
of SS. Peter and Paul church in Ionia.

Surviving are her brother, Thomas Conroy of Traverse City, a brother-in-law, 
James Kenny of Ionia and several nieces and nephews.

A requiem mass will be sung Wednesday, September 5, at 9 a.m. at the SS. Peter 
and Paul church and rosary will be said Tuesday evening at 7:30 at the Stone-
Kauffman funeral home,  Interment will be in Mt. Olivet cemetery.
