Ionia Sentinel Standard – Monday 6, July 1925

John B. Powley, for many years a resident of Gladwin, died Saturday morning at 
9:30 o’clock at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Frank Simmons, 436 Jones 
street, with whom he had made his home the past three years.  He was born in 
Ontario 84 years ago.  Mrs. Powley died four years ago.  Mr. Powley is 
survived by four children, Mrs. Simmons and Mrs. E. J. Carver, of Ionia; Mrs. 
Mary Herbert of Flint, and Levi Powley of Flint.

The remains were shipped to Gladwin Monday.  The funeral services and burial 
will take place there Tuesday.
