Born on August 6, 1922 in West Olive, MI, Muriel moved to Sebewa Township at the age of 5 where she would live out all of her years. They enjoyed a long courtship and became engaged before Sherm joined the army to fight in WWII. Muriel traveled the country with Sherm to different camps and they were married on September 5, 1942 at Camp Robinson, Arkansas. When Sherm was deployed to Europe Muriel returned to Sebewa and began working for was would become GenCorp, where she would eventually spend 35 years. Sherm and Muriel designed and built their home in West Sebewa where they would raise their daughter, two grandchildren, and be blessed to know three great-grandchildren. Muriel had a great love for her family, who were with her at her home through her final days and at her side when she passed away. Muriel loved to be outside with her hands in the dirt, creating beautiful flower gardens and watching the birds and squirrels.
