Ionia County News - Thursday, 20 February 1936
Mrs. Amelia Pratt died at her home in Saranac shortly after the noon hour, 
Wednesday, February 19.  She had apparently been in her usual health until 
Tuesday night between 9:00 and 10:00 o'clock when she was ready to retire and 
suffered a stroke from which she failed to rally.

Amelia Monks was born in Boston township, October 16, 1859, the daughter of 
Mr. and Mrs. Randalll Monks.  In 1881, she was united in marriage with Truman 
Pratt of Keene Township and resided on a farm there until 17 years ago when 
she moved to her late home on Church St., Saranac.  Besides her husband she 
leaves one sister, Mrs. Dorothy Carr, and a brother, Philip Monks both of 
Saranac.

Rev. Frank Loomis will conduct the funeral service which will be from the 
home, Sturday afternoon at two o'clock.  Burial will be in Saranac cemetery.
