Herbert L. Pratt, 87, of Saranac passed away Thursday, Oct. 31, 2002 in Grand 
Rapids.  He was born Oct. 16, 1915 in Blissfield, the son of George Albert and 
Edna Pratt.  He married Mary Ballentine Dec. 7, 1940 in Ohio.  He was the past 
president, clerk and treasurer of the Village of Saranac for over 30 years.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Pratt; daughters, Susan (Michael) Kohloff of 
Alma and Sharon (Don) Johnson of Saranac; grandchildren; Jeff and Ben Smith, 
Drew (Heather) Johnson and Nicki Johnson; and great-grandson, Loren David 
Johnson.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday at Lake Funeral Home in 
Saranac with Chaplain Tom Reaume officiating.  The family will receive friends 
and family from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., Friday at the funeral home.  Anyone wishing 
may make a memorial contribution to Saranac Public Library or Saranac Fire 
Department.  Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
