The Ionia Standard, Friday, December 8, 1893

John M. Pratt, for many years a resident of Ionia county, and at one time a 
minister in the M.E. church, who went into the service as a captain in the 6th 
Cavalry, but retired early, died at his home in Grand Rapids, on Wednesday, at 
the age of 74.
