The Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard, Tuesday, June 21, 1960
Funeral service was held at the Osgood funeral home in St. Johns Tuesday at 2 
p.m. for Mrs. Daisy Mae Pratt, 76, who died Sunday in Otsego County Memorial 
hospital.  Mrs. Pratt was a former resident of Ionia.  She was born in Clinton 
county February 2, 1884, the daughter of Frank and Margaret Auten Youdan.  She 
spent most of her life in Clinton county and for the past 12 years had resided 
at Elmira.

She was married to Jelo N. Rice in Gratiot County February 23, 1908.  He died 
in1946.  Mrs. Pratt was a member of the Countyline church.  She is survived by 
three daughters, Mrs. Elsie Yoder of Lansing, Mrs. Beulah Wagner of 
Laingsburg, and Mrs. Lucile Grieve of St. Johns; two sons, Robert Rice of 
Salem, Oregon, and Leslie Rice of Greenville; 18 grandchildren; 20 great-
grandchildren, and two brothers, Otis Youdan of Miles City, Montana, and Frank 
of Elmira.  One son, Otis Rice of Ionia, preceded her in death in 1955.  

The Rev. L. E. Willoughby officiated and burial was at Eureka cemetery.
