Prentice, 67, died at his home in South Ionia Sunday afternoon at 2:30 following an illness that became serious at Thanksgiving. Funeral services will be conducted from the home of his nephew, Ray Link, in South Ionia, Sunday afternoon at 2 o’clock, with Rev. F. J. Fitch officiating. Burial will be in the Balcom cemetery. Mr. Prentice was born in Genesee county, but had lived for 39 years in South Ionia. Previous to coming to Ionia he had lived seven years at Edmore, and for a time at Saranac. He owned and operated the gravel pit in South Ionia, and conducted a grocery store on old M-21. Ten years he was employed at the Arnold foundry. Since he was taken ill at Thanksgiving his sister, Mrs. Carrie Link, and brother, Fred Prentice, have carried on his business. Surviving are the mother, Mrs. Emma Prentice, age 89, who lived with him; a sister, Mrs. Carrie Link; a brother, Fred Prentice, and another nephew, Fay Link, all of South Ionia. The body will be brought to the home of Ray Link Sunday morning. Those wishing to view the remains may do so by calling at the Boynton funeral chapel before Sunday, or at the Link home Sunday.
