Duane J. Preston, of Eagle, born Sept. 1, 1930 in Grand Ledge, passed away July 19,
2007 at the age of 76.  Duane was a retired employee of General Motors with 33 years
of service, a member of the Hope Evangelical Lutheran Church, Portland and enjoyed
and was proud of the love of his life, “Buford” the truck.

He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Margarete; sons, Chuck of Sunfield
and Dave (Brenetta) of Portland; daughters, Penny Hoppes of Portland, Pam (Steven)
Jacobus of Rudyard and Lori Roe of Portland; five grandchildren; nephew, Ken Babbitt
of Eagle and many nieces and nephews.

Services were held July 23 at the Peters and Murray Funeral Home, Grand Ledge, with
Pastor Rodney Schwab officiating.  Interment followed at Needmore Cemetery.
