The Ionia Daily Sentinel, Saturday, December 2, 1916
Hal B. Preston, aged about 58 years, died this morning at his home in 
Vicksburg, where he has been in ill health for some time following an 
operation at Ann Arbor for cancer of the stomach.  The remains will be brought 
to Ionia Monday morning, and the funeral services will be held Monday 
afternoon at two o’clock at the Disciple church, Rev. R. B. Chapman 
officiating.  Interment will be in the family lot at Highland park.  The 
remains will be brought here by his daughter Jessie, and Mr. and Mrs. Harley 
Preston.
