Daily Standard - Saturday, Feb. 17, 1917

Word was received this afternoon by the mother, Mrs. Rose Preston, of the death 
of her son, Lee Preston of Detroit. Deceased was taken ill with pneumonia only 
a short time ago, and until Friday it was not considered that there was any 
danger. His brother, Ben Preston of Grand Rapids, has gone to Detroit and will 
come here with the body, it is not known just when. Lee Preston was 36 years 
old and unmarried; he had not been here for some years. Ms. Preston lived on  
Lincoln avenue.

Daily Standard - Monday, 19 February, 1917
The body of Lee Preston was brought from Detroit this noon and taken directly 
to the Church of Christ, where Rev. R.B. Chapman conducted the funeral service 
at 2:00 o'clock. Burial was at Highland Park. The bearers were Glen Stannard, 
Joe turner, William Burke, John Norton, Martin Malone and J. Eddy.
