Funeral services are to be held Friday afternoon from the Boynton chapel. Conducting the services will be the Rev. C. A. Bracy of the Ionia Church of Christ, while burial is to be in Highland Park cemetery. Mrs. Preston fell in her home in March, and was taken to the Ionia hospital where x-rays revealed that no fractures had been incurred. Shortly after, she was removed to her home, but evidently still suffering from the shock of the fall, she lapsed into unconsciousness Friday, did not recover up to her death Tuesday. She was born September 17, 1855 at Bradford, New York, and moved to Ionia at the age of 14. She has lived here since. Her husband, Howard C. Preston of Ionia, whom she married in 1875, died in 1916. Surviving her are two daughters, Mrs. Sadie Shout of Fenwick, and Miss Frankie Preston, at home; one son, Archie Preston, at home; a brother, Edward Swarthout of Weston, New York; and a sister, Mrs. Dan Dickson of Keene township. Three grandchildren also survive.
