He was 30 years old. Mr. Pretzel was born Feb. 14, 1917, in Belding. In August of 1941, he married the former Alta Frisbie, who survives. He was discharged from the Navy on May 28, 1946, after being stationed on Guam. He received his boot training at Great Lakes and was stationed in Rhode Island and California. He has been under treatment at Percy Jones hospital since August and was at Ann Arbor hospital previous to that. He is survived by a six-months-old daughter, Donna; two sons, Ronald, 5; and Martin, 3; his father, Frank; grandmother, Mrs. Anna Pretzel, of Fowler; one sister, Mrs. Jens Kowalski, of Lansing, and one brother, Jack, of Belding. Funeral service was held Thursday from the Ellis Funeral Home in Belding. Rev. H. S. Ellis officiated and burial was in Riverridge cemetery.
