                         Native Of Germany Dies At Fowler

Mrs.Anna Pretzel died Saturday afternoon at the home of hr son, Otto, near 
Fowler, for who she had been keeping house. She was 83 years old and was in her 
usual good health until she suffered a stroke which caused her death.
She was born Anna Witt, in Germany and came to the United State with her husband 
and five sons in 1891, settling at Laingsburg and later moving to the farm east 
of the city Mr.Pretzel died in 1934.


Surviving are six sons; Otto of Fowler, William, Frank and Bernie of this city, 
Robert of Grand Rapids, Emil of Oakland, and one daughter,Mrs.Howard Dumond of 
Grand Rapids; one daughter, Anna, having preceded her in death. There are also 
10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Wednesday at 2 o'clock at the Fales-Huffman Funeral 
Chapel, Rev.Bert Baker of Grand Rapids officiating and burial was in River Ridge 
cemetery. Hr six sons acted as pallbearers.
