Excerpts from Greenville Obituary

RONALD DALE PRETZEL

Died November 28, 2025-age 83 in Orofino, Idaho.
Born May 16, 1942 in Belding, MI. to John & Alta Pretzel.
He lived on the farm with siblings Mart, Donna, & Dena.
Ron's father died when he was 5 years old & his Mother remarried later to Irvin 
"Pete" Main.
Ron learned to work hard , developing his initiative & toughness through chores 
like milking the cows early mornings,& throwing bales of Hay.
He hunted rabbits for food, wrestled in school & raced muscle cars with his 
brother, Mart.
Ron joined the U.S.Air Force, where he became a mechanic on fighter jets.
He was stationed at Elmendorf Air Force Base in Anchorage, Alaska.
He was on the base when the Great Alaska Earthquake of 1964 struck.
Around that time he met his first wife, Cheryl Marshall. They married & had 
three children; Jackie, Jason & Carmen.Ron & Cheryl later divorced.
After the Air Force service, Ron became a truck driver-doing long-hauls across 
the continent to ice road trucking in Alaska.
He enjoyed fishing & hunting in Alaska, his favorite hobby was collecting fire-
arms, & time with family & friends, sharing exciting stories.
Ron loved the Lord & was active in Church.
When Ron was 73 years old he met Stephanie Witte. They shared 10 great years 
together.
They first lived on Arizona City, Arizona, before moving to Orofino, Idaho, 
where they resided along the Clearwater River.
Stephanie took care of Ron while he battle Cancer.
