Ionia County News - Thurs. March 9, 1939


Mrs. James Price, 74, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ora J. Roberts, 
463 Rice street, at 10:30 Monday morning, March 6. She had been visiting at the 
Roberts home since December 1 and had been seriously ill only a week.

She was born September 25, 1964, in Portland and was married to Lester Canfield 
April 4, 1880. Mr. Canfiled died March 25, 1889. To them three sons, Silas, now 
deceased, Roy, of Westwood, Calif., and R.B. Canfield of Lansing, were born. 

She was married to James Price in April, 1891. Mr. Price preceded her in death 
ten years ago. To them two daughters, Mrs. Roberts, of Ionia, and Mrs. Harry 
Moore of Lansing and a son, Earl Price, of Pontiac, were born and all survive 
the mother.

Funeral services were Wednesday afternoon, March 8, at two o’clock in Gratiot 
county. Burial was in North Star Cemetery.
