Bill was born July 13, 1921, in Amarillo, Texas, the son of Dr. Earl and Violet Culbertson Price. He graduated from Belding High School with the class of 1940 and was a veteran of World War II, serving in the United States Army. He served in Gen. George Patton’s Third Army, seeing action in Northern France, the Ardennes, Rhineland and Central Europe. Bill was also at the Battle of the Bulge. He was a member of American Legion Post 203 of Belding, past member of the Belding Lions Club and the Elks Club and enjoyed playing golf with the Candlestone Golf League. He and his wife, Bette, owned Price’s Apparel in Belding for many years, retiring in 1985. Bill enjoyed working on his lawn and garden. He was married May 13, 1943, in Belding, to Bette King. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bette, on March 3, 1999; his parents; and two sisters, Jean and Hazel. Bill is survived by his children, Mary Jo and Robert Gregson of Cookeville, Tenn., Shelle Jean Price of Chicago, Ill.; grandchildren, Lorie J. and Mike Dickenson, Bobbie and Kenneth Penland, all of Tennessee, Mark Seconsky of Chicago, Ill.; four great-grandchildren, Madison, Jake and William Penland, Matthew Dickenson; and brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Marilyn Price of Belding. Graveside funeral services are 12:30 p.m. Thursday at River Ridge Cemetery with Pastor Ken Harger of Shiloh Community Church officiating. Visitation is from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding. A luncheon will follow the visitation at the American Legion in Belding.
