Lafayette street in Greenville. She had made her home there for several years. Although Mrs. Price had been in failing health for a long period of time, she was up and dressed each day, including the morning before her death. She was born in Marshall, November 12, 1863, the daughter of Fayette and Minerva Beardsley. On January 12, 1882 she was united in marriage to Will Price in Edmore. he preceded her in death October 25, 1924. A former Belding resident, she had resided in this area for the past 62 years. Mrs. Price will be remembered for her book entitled “Memories That Linger On” written prior to 1952 and dedicated to her children. This gives an autobiography of her life and much of the history of Michigan as she remembered it. It is illustrated throughout by many of her own drawings. The book, written a little bit at a time, an hour each night, by very bright light, before her failing eyesight left her unable to see to do the work, shows the determination of the deceased. Each member of her family has a copy of the book and there are copies available for the general public to view at the Alvah N. Belding Library. She was also known as Belding’s “Grandma Moses,” and had at one time several of her painting s on display at the local library. Survivors include her daughter, Mrs. Homer (Hazel) Olger of Greenville; two sons, Dr. Earl Price and Dr. W. Ray Price of this city; seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2:00 from the Fitzjohn Funeral Home with Rev. H. S. Ellis officiating. Burial will be in River Ridge cemetery.
