Ionia County News - Thursday, Jan. 12, 1933

Mrs. Oscar Price, 77, died Saturday morning, January 7, at her home on Harter 
street. Although she had been in poor health for several years, the immediate cause

of of her death was shock resulting from a fall Friday evening in which she suffered

a broken hip.

Deceased whose maiden name was Alice Hackett, was born in Orange township, May 21, 
1856 and had spent almost her entire life in Ionia county. On December 28, 1890, she

was united in marriage with Oscar Price. Mr. Price died seven years ago. Surviving 
relatives are a daughter, Miss Edna Price, a son, Edward Price, and a brother, 
Robert Hackett, all of Ionia.

Largely attended funeral services were held Tuesday morning at SS. Peter and Paul 
church with requiem high mass celebrated by Father Joseph V. Coyle and sermon by 
Msgr. Hugh D. McCarthy, a former pastor. Burial was in Mt. Olivet cemetery.
