Frances V. Prill, age 90, of Battle Creek, passed away on Friday, Feb. 20, 2009 
at the Battle Creek Health System, leaving a legacy of love.

She was born Frances (Sis) Garrett on Nov. 11, 1918 in Crawford, Tenn. and 
later moved to Battle Creek where she married and raised her family. She was a 
founding member of St. Jerome Catholic Church and most recently was a member of 
Birchwood Methodist Women’s Faith Circle. She enjoyed reading, learning, 
traveling, knitting and crocheting, which she passed on to her children. She 
had a great passion caring for children, especially her grand and great-
grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband and soul mate, James “Jim” Prill; son, 
James Jr. and daughter, Diane K. Pershing.

She leaves behind her older sister, Beadie Teeple; four daughters, Sue “Gloria” 
Gloria (David) White, Mary Jane Peck, Sally (Dave) Eldridge and Therese (Ron) 
Burns; one son, Michael (Peggy) Prill; one daughter-in-law, Sandy Prill; 23 
grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; her 
special niece, Earline (Lois) Lawson and many more nieces and nephews whom she 
loved dearly. She will be greatly missed, but will live on in our hearts and 
memories.

Funeral services were held at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home, 703 Capital 
Avenue, SW, Battle Creek. Interment at Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial 
contributions may be given to the charity of your choice.
