April 25, 1935 MRS. JAMES PROBERT DIED AT MENDON WEDNESDAY Mrs. James Probert, 88, a former resident for many years of Lake Odessa, died at Mendon, Wednesday morning. For the last several years she had been making her home with her niece Mrs. William Robinson there. The funeral will be held at the congregational church here at 2:30 Friday afternoon, with the Rev. George J. Start, pastor, officiating, and burial will be in the family lot in Lakeside cemetery. Mrs. Probert was a charter member of the local church. She with her husband and their only child Bertha moved here soon after the town was stated and lived in the house which they later sold to Bishop Haddix. They then purchased the second residence south, Their daughter, then Mrs. Edward Badgley, died in June of 1913. Mr. Probert died the next March and the widow soon after sold her home to Mr. and Mrs. L. W. Davis of Hoytville. She then made her home most to the time for some years with her brother-in-law Mark Probert in Portland, and they went to Mendon where she has since lived.
