LAKE ODESSA- Mrs. Rebecca Ann Proctor, 20, of Charlton Park road, route 1. 
Freeport was killed instantly in a head on collision on M43 about four miles 
west of Woodland in Barry County about 7:30 am Monday.

She was born March 24, 1953, at Frankfurt, Germany, where her father was 
stationed with the armed forces. She was the daughter of Murray R. and 
Katherine E. Nelson.

She formerly lived in the Lake Odessa area where her family moved from New 
Jersey in 1968. She was a 1971 graduate of Lakewood high school. She was 
attending Montcalm Community college at Sidney and had planned to become a 
licensed practical nurse.

She was a member of the Emanual Episcopal church of Hastings. 

Surviving are the husband, Kenneth L.; two-year old daughter, Alica Anne; 
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Murray Nelson of rural Freeport; sister, Mrs. Janet 
Peaker of Washington, D.C.; two brothers, Michael J. Nelson of Lansing and 
James A. Cook of Norfolk, Va.; Grandmother Mrs. Marie Nelson of East Jordan.

Funeral services will be Thursday at 1:30 pm at Pickens-Koops funeral chapel at 
Lake Odessa. Fr. Wayne C. Olmstead will officiate and interment will be at 
Lakeside cemetery.
