All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/mi/mifiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Marilyn Ransom mransom311@gmail.com August 28, 2014, 10:34 pm The Carson City Gazette, Thursday, June 19, 1939 Edwin Leighton Proctor (60) who was injured in an automobile accident at the intersection of the Muir and Hubbardston roads developed pneumonia on Friday of this past week and was taken to the Clinton County Hospital at St. Johns were he died Sunday morning, June 25th. The funeral was held from his late home Wednesday at 2 p.m., June 28th. Burial was in the West Side cemetery. Mrs. Proctor who was also injured is able to be around the house after being confined to her bed for six days. Mr. Proctor was born in Gratiot county, and has spent the past 55 years in Hubbardston with the exception of a few years in Lansing. He was married to Mrs. Margaret Leach in September 1917. Surviving are the widow, one son, Leighton, one step-daughter, Mrs. Leslie Cataline of Lansing, who was in the auto at the time of the accident, one brother, William Lowell Proctor of Williamston; four half-sisters, Mrs. Ida Morse, Lansing; Mrs. Justine Gill, Saginaw; Mrs. Maude Trumbley of Charlotte and Mrs. Milo Day of Muskegon Heights, 4 step grandchildren and 3 nephews. Rev. John W. Broxholm was in charge of the service at the home and the Rev. Wm. S. Ross of the south Baptist church, Lansing, of whose church Mr. Proctor was a member, preached the funeral sermon.
